Since 2002 I have been developing a project that I call “ The dictionary of space”. With this research I aim to develop a visual dictionary for the different types of physical space that constitute our spatial environment.The dictionary of space is an investigation into language and space drawn from literature, art, architecture and urbanism in relation to different strategies of organizing, distributing and handling information. The project resides on the edges of architecture, archaeology, literature and performance art. The dictionary tries to re-formulate concepts such as those dealing with occupation, appropriation, borders, territories, representation and identity, concepts from which the original meanings have been lost as a result of the accumulated overload of images and associations, pilled on to them over time. My activity as an artist often exists as such in ‘erase images” and “order the remains” into a constellation that reveals the simple original concept, again.
The projects I have developed for the dictionary include interventions in magazines, publications, performances, installations, texts, drawings, models and video.
